Position Purpose & Focus
The Junior Designer will receive guidance from VP of Design, a Senior Project Designer, Project Designer, or Sales Team, to support the design team for the development and execution of creative concepts from concept phase through project completion. The Junior Designer will contribute in multiple project phases, including the development of creative design solutions, translating them into thorough design documents, and working closely with external key players to achieve a quality-built project. Will collaborate with all departments to ensure conformance to project requirements. Will support our team, including site and inventory verifications, space planning, typical development, concept pulls, shop drawings, renderings, FF&E packages, finish pulls, accurate specifications, and installation drawings.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Assists and supports design team to conceptualize, develop and design brand identities, presentation decks, mood boards, and a variety of print collateral and digital material
In collaboration with sales team assists with product specification, pricing, FF&E package and furniture plans
Assists in developing overall design on projects
Contributions in space plan development on projects
Collaborate with designers on creative brainstorms, strategy and client presentations
Support and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously under strict deadlines, often with minimal supervision
Supports design team with a high standard of design quality, customer service and professionalism
Communicates with vendors, contractors and clients
Complete duties and responsibilities with minimal review required
Responsible for maintenance and organization of the library and fabrics
Travel as needed with a team member on a per-project basis
Assist other designers and ICE team members as requested
Qualifications
0-3+ years’ prior related experience in the furniture design industry is required. Commercial furniture design experience is preferred.
BS/BA/BFA degree in Interior Design, Industrial Design, Architectural Design, or a similar field is required.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
Proficiency in AutoCAD.
Knowledge of CET and CAP 2020 design software.
Previous experience of best practices in interior design
Furniture product knowledge with the ability to learn and apply new product knowledge in a timely manner is preferred
